This song is meant to be a representation of the alarming number of people that are controlled by religion so deeply that it becomes a reflex to submit to it even if you’re not religious, as seen in the way that religion has infiltrated US politics so effectively. The song portrays religion as a parasite to mankind, who has dissociated from the part of himself that can process and make use of this understanding as a result of the constant abuse and brainwashing he’s subjected to.
